Dr. Bilowus earned a Bachelor of Science from the State University New York in Buffalo, studied Cancer Epidemiology as a M.A. Candidate at Roswell Park Memorial Institute, and received his Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree in 1980.

After a successful career studying General Surgery, completing his residency at Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, DC, and practicing Urologic Major Abdominal Surgery and Reconstructive Surgery in Reston, Virginia—where he was Chief of Section of Urology at Reston Hospital Center—Dr. Bilowus elected to devote his practice to the dynamic and artistic specialty of hair restoration surgery.

Dr. Bilowus is a member of the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery, American Society of Hair Restoration Surgery, American Medical Association, Southern Medical Association, Virginia State Medical Society, Fairfax County Medical Society, Phi Delta Epsilon Medical Fraternity, American Urology Association, Virginia Urological Society, Washington Urological Society, American Society for Reproductive Medicine, and the Loudoun County Medical Society.

He has hospital affiliations at Reston Hospital Center, Loudoun Hospital Center, Inova Fairfax Hospital, Inova Fair Oaks Hospital, Potomac Hospital, and Countryside Ambulatory Surgery Center, and is fluent in Spanish.
